Sometimes a customer has a specific design they just can find in any stores. This desk is the perfect example. The customer had specific items they wanted in a specific configuration. This is the heart of custom woodwork.
This desk is made entirely of clear black walnut. The top has waterfall sides where the wood from the top continues down each side giving it an elegant clean transition from top to side.
The Drawers are all made from 5/8” thick solid black walnut. All the panels are made with mitered corners and reinforced with biscuit joinery to provide a beautiful and strong result.
Incorporated into this design are hidden storage and convenience features such as pull-out trays for the keyboard and printer, inlayed 110v AC and 5v DC USB outlets, and an adjustable shelf to accommodate future printer sizes and configurations.
The file drawers are designed with durability in mind, each drawer can hold 110 lbs. All the hardware features soft close to provide a silent and gentle closure.
Everything was then finished with multiple coats of conversion acrylic varnish to provide a very hard and durable finish that will hold up to life’s demands for decades to come.
