Some times we take on projects that are just more than we expect. This beautiful door was purchased for its unique design. Trouble was, the owner attempted to refinish on their own hoping to bring it back to life. Let’s just say after many days of tedious hard work they reached out for help. Once the many layers of paint were removed, the years of damage were exposed. I dismantled the door, removed a thin layer of wood off all of the surfaces, then reassembled the door. Most of the trim had to be remade from new wood. The door also needed to be 6″ taller for it to be used as a sliding barn door. We were able to preserve the unique look and feel of the door while giving it a new life.
