Sometimes a customer has a specific design they just can find in any stores. This worktable is a great example. The customer had specific items they wanted in a specific configuration. This is the heart of custom woodwork.
This table is made of clear black walnut with a quarter sawn sycamore center panel in the top of the work surface.
The Drawers are all made from 5/8” thick solid black walnut. All the panels are made with mitered corners and reinforced with biscuit joinery to provide a beautiful and strong result.
Incorporated into this design are hidden storage and convenience features such as pull-out trays for the keyboard, inlayed 110v AC and 5v DC USB outlets, and a convenient storage drawer. All the hardware features soft close to provide a silent and gentle closure.
Everything was then finished with multiple coats of conversion acrylic varnish to provide a very hard and durable finish that will hold up to life’s demands for decades to come.
